CFMS History

The CFMS was launched by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as part of its financial reforms to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in financial activities. Below is a brief history of CFMS:

Concept & Need:

  • In 2016-2017 Andhra Pradesh government think about launching a Centralized Digital Platform to manage the financial activities as the workload was increasing day by day and it was becoming hard to manage the Financial activities by old (Paper work) methods.
  • The main aim was to manage the salary, CFMS challan payments and pensions.Later it Cover the other departments too.

Development:

  • In 2017-2018 The Andhra Pradesh Centre for Financial Systems and Services (APCFSS) was tasked with developing and managing the CFMS platform.
  • The system was designed with SAP ERP technology, ensuring real-time financial tracking and automation of payments.

Lauch of CFMS:

  • The CFMS portal (https://cfms.ap.gov.in) was officially launched in April 2018.
  • It enabled government pensioners, employees, vendors and beneficiaries to check their bill status, payment details, and financial transactions online.
  • CFMS introduced Beneficiary ID tracking, which simplified payment verification for different types of vendors.

Senior officers from Andhra Pradesh Centre for Financial Systems and Services (APCFSS) , State Bank of India (SBI) were also present on the launch event.

On the ocassian of lauch of CFMS the Chief Minister (N. Chandrababu Naidu) said:

“I appreciate all those who worked for months together for developing CFMS. This is a complicated system. SAP developed the best system for all the government departments. I thank IT advisor J Satyanarayana for achieving this feat.”

Updates and Enhancements:

  • Continuous updates were made to enhance security, user experience, and payment processing speed.
  • Integration with different banking systems enabled faster processing and real-time payment status tracking. The platform expanded its services, including AP CFMS challan generation, expenditure tracking, and treasury bill status checking.
  • Few other updates were make to make User data secure like making the AP CFMS bill status checking auth protective.

Still Much More To-do:

There is not doubt that a lot of hard work is contributed to develop such a fantastic CFMS system for Andhra Pradesh. On the other hand CFMS opened an other world of IT revolution which need much more exploration.
There are still pending modules on the CFMS which can be watched on the Office CFMS portal till on March 2025. Few of them are:

Hopefully these module will get active before the end of this year as Government of AP doing a lot of work in the IT department.
